Q: Why the name Hold Fast?
A: Hold Fast means Hang on tight, it means. Stay steady. Don’t give up. Sailors used to tattoo it on their knuckles, as a charm and a reminder. Don’t let go the rigging, lest you be swept out to sea. To us it means hang on to faith of to God lest we lose our way.

Q: Are you a church?
A:
Yes we are a church. Our church is growing and evolving quickly into a strong congregation.

Q: Who are you trying to reach?
A:
People who have faith but have left the church, people who want to hear the gospel, people who are seeking God and anyone else who needs loved.

Q: Are you affiliated with any denomination or church?
A:
We are an independent ministry and our staff come from various church traditions including Reformed, Ana Baptist, Pentecostal & Southern Baptist. We do have relationships with local churches and our staff are members or regular attendees of area congregations.

Q: What is your message & theology?
A:
Our basic theology is just that. It is a very basic one. That God loves you and desires you more than you could ever imagine. We preach a simple Gospel much like Jesus did. We do not get overly theological or intellectual with it. We believe the most important thing people could know is that God loves them, accepts them, forgives their sins and offers salvation. Our message is on of grace and mercy. We desire to see people come to Christ and experience the transforming power of his awesome love.

Q: Are you part of the Emergent or Emerging Church?
A:
We are not connected in anyway to that particular movement. However we feel that it is helpful to many people in the walk with God and has been a vital part of Christianity.

Q: Does your message of grace allow people to go on sinning?
A:
Not at all. We teach in order to accept Christ and gain salvation you must acknowledge Jesus Christ as your savior and ask for the forgiveness of your sins. Upon doing so your sins are forgiven both now and for eternity. Though we all will sin until our death we are now forgiven and made holy in God’s sight. We stress that you must fully accept and submit to the love of God in order to truly live the Christian life. In doing so you will begin to transform and you will have truly repented.

Q: Are you a youth ministry?
A:
We are not a youth ministry. The people we minister too and that attend our services range from 18 – 35 though we welcome teenagers and those older than 35.

Q: Are you a subculture ministry?
A:
Not at all though our staff is made up of people from various subcultures including the Hardcore, Punk, Rock-a-Billy & Tattoo cultures. Our goal is to be a place for anyone who needs to be loved.

Q: Do you offer worship and what style?
A:
We do not currently have regular worship music. As soon as we have our own building we will begin to offer weekly worship.

Q: Will you be having guest speakers?
A:
We will be having guests come in to speak at our services as well as the occasional musician to play for us.

Q: Will you be offering communion and other traditional services?
A:
Once we are in our own building we plan to offer a weekly church service. We will offer communion, baptism and other sacraments.
